• Why?
Lots of people I know (both online and offline) have told me why they hate Sakura. It makes me wonder why really since she's so strong and independent. Or maybe its just me because she and I are exactly alike in more ways than one. That's right, were both a lot alike. She's an aries, I'm an aries. We both have the same qualities such as being loud, always cheerful, being short-tempered, being stubborn, competitive and if we like/love someone we'll never give up on them. I can relate to her a lot because unlike a lot of the characters in the series she is one of the "normal" ones. Not that the others aren't normal, its just they possess something that makes them strong or that they were born with that certain strength.

As Sasuke has inherited sharingan from his parents, as Naruto has the kyuubi within him, as Neji and Hinata have Byakugan...Sakura is pretty normal compared to them. She has no qualities about her that make her stand out from the crowd (in a physical sense) for the exception of her hair and eyes. Her parents are obviously not shinobi's of Konoha, just living as normal civilians within the city limits. She has nothing and that's why everybody calls her a hindrance. She's always being protected by those superior than her. Although its sweet having Sasuke, Naruto, Lee and Kakashi always protecting you...it sucks big time. She's an aries, they are stubborn and full of pride.

Always being protected and always being called a hindrance and weak is a quick blow to the ego. Which is why she decided to change for herself and for those around her so that she'd stop being protected over. Sakura tries her best but apparently her best isn't enough according to those earlier episodes in the series. So, now she trains under the Fifth Hokage as one of the most brilliant students of her time. Sakura possesses all the qualities needed in a medic-nin. Precise chakra control, immense intelligence and you need to know how to apply that knowledge when in battle. You also need a strong will and determination to become a medic-nin, all of which Sakura has.

Sakura is not the weak little girl we all once knew. She's now a monstrously strong woman who is a extremely intelligent medic-nin. Sakura has trained as the apprentice of Tsunade (one of the legendary sannin's) while Sasuke trained under Orochimaru (one of the other legendary sannin's) and Naruto has trained under Jiraiya's (another legendary sannin) command. They are all becoming strong but in their own way. Everybody tells me how bitchy Sakura is. So what? Its normal for a 12 year old to whine and complain about everything. Everybody does it, its called being a pre-teen and don't tell me you were never like that?

People have told me how clingy and attached Sakura is to Sasuke. That's normal, she's in love with him. Simple as that. It all may have started as a mere childish infatuation but that grew as time went on and she got to know him more. They both obviously care for one another and show their emotions in different ways. Sakura showing how much she loves him upfront and center while he (most likely) does it secretly. We all have to understand that Sasuke doesn't have the time to have romance in his life until he avenge's his clan.

She's a crybaby, she whines and she's annoying...blah blah blah. Like you weren't like that before? I honestly admit I was like that. I'm still like that but I suppress it more actually but Sakura's changed over the course of years. She's not as annoying as you think or as whiny either. Pre-teen girls do that, its how we are. The more we grow older the more mature we get. Give her time, she's getting over that phase in her life. Its also called puberty people.

Sakura has told Naruto how annoying he was consistently but that was until she learned more about him and trusted him more. She grew up in an environment where everyone was supposed to shun him away because he witheld a monster within him. She did just that but in the end she was fighting a losting battle. She gained respect towards Naruto after all he's done and sacrificed for her. He'd brighten up her day when she was down and he'd do anything to keep that smile on her face stay there. He truly cares for her...as a friend. He understands how much she loves Sasuke and he knows that its no crush anymore. It has devoloped into something more. They are good best friends though and completely understand each other now.

Sakura ending her friendship with her best friend is horrible. All over one guy. I admit how selfish an act that was but if you read underneath the underneath she didn't do it purposely for which I understand now. She wanted to be rivals with Ino equally. She wanted to be acknowledged as an equal to her, not just some shadow or follower or just "Ino's best friend." They are obviously still best friends even if they fight a lot. They still care and watch out for one another. Its as if their friendship never shifted from what it was before. All that is different is that they are both going for the same guy except we all know Sakura's love for him is true and genuine whilst Ino's is just a childish crush.

People have told me the most ridiculous reasons why they "hate" her. I find it oddly hilarious really. "Her hair is too pink!" "She gets all the guys!" "She has too much pride!" "She's obsessed to the limit its not funny!" They all make me go lol. Really. And no, lol does not stand for 'lots of love'...that's just gay. And yes, I'm rambling now even though this has nothing to do with this. Anywho, Sakura likes pink! So what? I like pink! She's a girl. Not every girl likes pink but everybody has their opinions. Who really cares if you like pink or not. How can she get all the guys in the series when she's not even with anyone. She's completely and downright devoted and loyal to Sasuke. Even if he's away on a long league of absence.

Besides, having two people who care for you isn't much is it? Having Naruto and Lee like her doesn't mean she gets all the guys. Even they know that she's too blindly in love with Sasuke to even glance their way. She'd glance and look at them but in another way, not in a 'in love' kind of way. Just in a friendship sense. She still truly care for them and their well-being, that much is for sure even though at times it may not seem that way. They care for her and she cares for them. They even understand how much she loves Sasuke and aren't doing much of anything to interfere with her dedication to him. They just do whatever they can for her.

She's my second favorite character, second to Sasuke. She's really cute and I love her personality. As I stated already, she and I have gone through the same things all throughout our lives. She's had a rough past when bullies picked on her because of her 'big forehead' while bullies/people picked on me because of my ears. My ears are abnormal alright and I don't care. No, my ears aren't too short or too big but they just look...kinda bigger than your average ear and that don't matter to me. I always cried when they'd pick on me and I had friends who helped me up when I was down. Of course, none of them were my best friends since I don't believe in BFF's forever because it just causes trouble but I have lots of close friends. I grew out of that and she did too, we all grow up sometime.

Sakura's attitude in life is very optimistic even if at times she's not really optimistic at all. Translating that she may look happy but inside she's not. Its all an act and I understand that about her. She shows her emotions out for everybody to see unlike Sasuke, Gaara, Neji and all of those guys in the series who are cold and too serious for their own good. They cover up how they feel and all their emotions because they think it makes them weak while Sakura shows it with her eyes and actions. She's got a lot going for her now after her major change and break through and for that I'm happy about.

What I won't be happy about is the fact that people bash and hate on her when they don't really know or understand her. You need to keep an openmind on people like her. Don't be so narrowminded and just think she's going to forever stay that way because she's going to be weak and that she's so useless. Well, she ain't useless at all. At least she tries and won't give up. She even said so herself that she was tired of being protected by Sasuke, Naruto, Lee and those around her.

She wants to protect those precious people to her. Whether she knows them or not she'll protect them until she dies because that's how she is. She's willing to put her life on the line for these people whether she knows them or not. I hope to people come to terms on how much Sakura isn't much different from us. Her family aren't shinobi's and she's the first one in their household while her family are just civilians as I've said before. A lot of people I know have changed their opinions on her just because of how much she's changed from being weak to becoming strong. Now that is what I call hypocritism. :]
