• Their Story
It all started out in the old academy days when Sasuke and Sakura were still training to become shinobi's. Sasuke was the most popular guy in school while she was the outcast who was then saved by Ino. She developed a reputation for herself and that included being "Ino's best friend." Sakura was always the shadow and follower apparently and always came second to her. Ino had the beauty, the charm, the smarts and the reputation to snag Sasuke away at any moment so she declared she and Ino rivals.

Even after what Sakura did for Sasuke, he paid no heed to her. All he thought about of course was avenging his clan and killing his brother. Of course, this was right after Itachi massacred the whole clan because if this all happened before it, Sasuke would for sure be a lot nicer. Sasuke was a nice and sweet kid back then before the clan was killed. He was innocent and cute. He wanted to become just like his brother but that changed soon enough.

Anywho, years later when they were 12 and graduated from the ninja academy, fate had decided to put them together once more. With that, they formed Team 7 along with Naruto and Kakashi-sensei. Sakura and Sasuke's non-existent relatonship developed and eventually he disliked her enough to tell her that she's annoying. This hurt her more than she showed on the outside, even after Sasuke told her that she was even more weak that Naruto himself.

Ouch, two blows to the ego and she could do nothing but agree to him. As time gradually passed, she was still infatuated with him and he was still annoyed at her. When they came upon a mission where everyone had thought he died, the first thought that came to his head was Sakura's name. He heard her crying over him and she was so happy to see him alive. This was one of those scenes where you start to question Sakura's "infatuation" with Sasuke.

More time went on and now its time for the Chuunin Exams. Sakura was down because she didn't feel up to it. She felt weak compared to everyone else and even Sasuke noticed how weird she was acting. Yes, Sasuke noticed....maybe even cared that she wasn't acting like her usual self. When they were about to submit their entries on whether or not they were gonna join the exams, Sasuke boosted up Sakura's self-esteem by telling her she was the best out of the whole team who knew genjutsu. He actually cared enough to bother doing that.

More and more moments then came from them both and it was the beginning of a beautiful non-existent relationship! Sakura obviously has grown out of her infatuation and it blossomed into something more...love. She was in love with Uchiha Sasuke. The cold hearted bastard she put up with for so long. The one who called her weak, the one who called her annoying and the one who didn't give a crap about her (unknownst to her). She never did hear Sasuke say, "I never want to see an important person die in front of me again." So of course she'd think this way.

The most touching scene in Naruto as of yet that has happened between the two is in episode 109 and manga chapter 181. Sasuke is about to the Sound with the intentions of leaving without anyone noticing until the next morning. Sakura somehow knew and maybe even felt something was amiss and ran towards the Konoha gates. The only place anyone can enter and leave. She waited for him and there he was in all his glory. She thought he was just taken a midnight stroll but apparently not. He had his backpack on. Who takes a stroll with their backpack on so late in the evening?

He was as cold as ever, telling her to go back to bed. She asks him why doesn't he ever tell her anything, his usual reply of "its none of your business" is heard. Then they talk some more and I do believe out of the whole series that this is the very first time he's talked so much from his own free will. She even tells him at one point that if he can't stay, then he should at least take her with him. She'd leave behind all her friends and family just to be by his side. Such dedication. Such devotion on her part.

She confessess her true feelings about how much she loves him. He calls her annoying...same old, same old. She threatens to scream and he reappears behind her and says nothing for a few seconds. Why the pause? I, myself don't understand but if you look closely at his lips he was about to say something within those seconds of silence but chickened out and said it seconds later. His lips flinched. He then tells her "Sakura...thank you." And knocks her out with a pressure point in the back of her head enabling the person to fall unconcious.

Even the Naruto databook stated that instead of words of parting, he told her words of gratitude for all that she's done for him and willing to give up for him. Now isn't this a wonderful couple to ship for? Well, they certainly are more realistic compared to SasuNaru honestly. Sasuke and Sakura have their ups and downs in this non-existent relationship of their's but they pull through. Its obvious Sasuke doesn't love her...yet. Or maybe he does but he knows he can't do anything about it due to his ambition in life and he can't lose focus from that.

All I know is that this couple is worth shipping for because they just are. They are nearly perfect for one another. They are total opposites. Its total polarity. What one lacks, the other has and it goes both ways with that. They obviously care for each other. Why deny it? Why even try? Just accept the fact that they just do and move on with your life. :]
